Manually assisted exercise is exercise mixed with manual therapy. It transforms a passive treatment into an active one. The primary purpose is to elicit muscles to work in the range and direction that the body demonstrates a need in. Manually-assisted exercise helps your body learn to exercise in your full available range and ensures the muscles are firing correctly. There is no serious risk, although patients may be sore afterward. It improves tissue extensibility, increases range of motion, reduces soft tissue swelling and inflammation. No other healthcare profession performs this routinely. Physical therapists almost exclusively perform it.

Non-thrust manipulation is a low velocity, low or high amplitude non-thrust of a joint anywhere in its range of motion. No other healthcare profession performs this routinely. Physical therapists almost exclusively perform it. If people have tried several professionals with temporary but not long-lasting success, this intervention often makes the difference. It helps reduce pain and increase motion.

Have you experienced any of the following: leaking of urine with coughing, sneezing or laughing, frequent urination, inability to control bowel movement, constipation, pelvic pain, painful intercourse, endometriosis, diastasis recti, tailbone pain, post-ejaculatory pain, or erectile dysfunction? If so, then pelvic floor physical therapy will be beneficial. We identify, assess, and treat pelvic floor musculature for men, women, non-binary, and transgender. We educate about how diet can affect symptoms, provide strategies to reduce urinary urgency and frequency, and share techniques to improve pelvic floor muscles' coordination. Seeing a pelvic health physical therapist can give you back control over your life, reduce the need for medications, and potentially prevent surgery.

Self-performed exercise is what makes the difference between momentary and long-lasting results. Each treatment session should produce noticeable results. Following up with the self-performed exercises prescribed and recommended will further help maintain and improve the results obtained during the session.

Cupping therapy is one of the oldest methods of releasing toxins from body tissue and organs. Cupping uses negative pressure forces (decompression) on suction cups to create lifting of the tissues. This creates space within the tissue layers, improving gliding and mobility. Decompression through cupping improves movement quality, releases tight tissues, decreases trigger points, improves blood flow, speeds up recovery time, and provides pain relief. The most common conditions cupping is helpful for are mono-neuropathies such as cubital tunnel syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, and sciatica, and also after lumbar fusions

Isolated massage is a massage technique where the physical therapist will identify, isolate and target an affected area to break up scar tissue to provide pain relief. Isolated massage allows maximal blood flow in and out of specific muscles. It increases the elasticity of muscles, joints, and fascia and helps to extend range of motion

Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization is often used in physical therapy. It works similar to standard massages, but specialized instruments are used. These instruments allow more direct treatment of the soft tissues to relieve stiffness and improve range of motion. IASTM treatments provide faster pain relief, improve mobility, and increase rehabilitation and recovery. Anyone with soft-tissue pain, excessive scar tissue, injuries, or conditions like plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, or tendinitis can benefit from IASTM.

Joint manipulation is a targeted level, high-velocity low amplitude thrust. You will often hear a pop known as cavitation. Most joints in the body can be thrust manipulated. A thorough screen is essential to limit risk. Joint manipulations are excellent at decreasing pain temporarily. Suppose people have had good but temporary results on the past when seeing another physical therapist, chiropractor, or osteopath. In that case, we usually get excellent results when combining this with specific exercises supporting the manipulation.

Have you been told that your condition requires surgery or that you have to live with it. Sometimes this is true, but you may just need a second opinion. Our doctors are trained to help you walk through the decision making process of what is the next best option for you or if the best option is to self manage.
